Once viewed as a "non-contact" sport, NBA basketball has opened some eyes with its physical play over the last decade or so. All of a sudden a 48-minute NBA basketball game takes a much larger toll on the body than many people thought.
That being said, back-to-back NBA basketball games can play a large role in a team's performance against the spread. There are two categories that I have broken these into to help you decide which play to make: back-to-back road games and back-to-back games.

Along with the game itself, travel can take a huge toll on an NBA basketball team. Back-to-back road NBA basketball games aren't too frequent but are still plentiful in the 82-game schedule.
When a team has to play and travel twice in two days they seem to have a significant drop-off in performance in the second NBA basketball game. Even if a team is a huge favorite, they will probably win the back end of the trip but usually not by the amount of points the odds makers pegged them to win by.
I am not saying bet on every home team when they are playing a team who is on the road for the second straight day, but take a long look at the game especially when the home team was off the previous night.
The other factor with back-to-back NBA basketball games is the amount of minutes the key players played the night before. This is relative to all back-to-back games, not just the road ones. This factor can add on to the road factor but should never be considered above it.
Some easy research that can be done is to look at players minutes the day before. NBA basketball players usually average between 30-42 minutes a game, but sometimes due to other's injuries, a hard fought game or overtime games they have to play a lot more in a game.
